
A bill on a one-time payment to students under 25 who have given birth to their first child has been approved in Karelia, the press service of the republican parliament reported on July 11.
“Deputies approved in the first and second final readings a bill establishing a one-time payment of 100,000 rubles to female students under 25 years of age in connection with the birth of a child.”the message said.
Students who permanently reside in the territory of the republic and study full-time at universities or vocational educational institutions in Karelia are eligible for the payment. In addition, they must be citizens of Russia.
If a student gives birth to two or more children, she will receive a payment for each child.
The funds will be paid from January 1, 2025. The head of the republic, Artur Parfenchikov, submitted the bill to Parliament for consideration. He expressed hope that this support measure would be of great benefit to the country. “will give families of students an incentive to have their first child sooner.”
