The Krasnodar region prosecutor’s office cited loss of trust as the reason for the resignation of the head of the Tbilisi region, the department’s press service reported on July 11.
During the anti-corruption audit, it became known that Evgeny Ilyin provided the governor of the region with false information about his own income and property obligations.
He participated in the business activities of his close relative, and also failed to take the necessary measures to resolve the conflict of interest when handling land that was leased to affiliates.
Information about all violations committed by the head of the Tbilisi region was sent to the governor of Kuban.
Recall that the day before, on July 10, at an extraordinary session of the City Council, a decision was made to dismiss Yevgeny Ilyin from his post as head of the Tbilisi district.
