The leadership of Spain’s far-right Vox party agreed Thursday to withdraw from all coalitions with the conservative Popular Party (PP) in the autonomous governments over migration policy.
The statement was made by Vox leader Santiago Abascal, who explained that his party was leaving the regional governments of Castile and Leon, Aragon, the Valencian Community, Extremadura and Murcia following the resignation of its vice presidents, in order to become a “loyal and strong” opposition in these communities.
The Vox leader said his party was the victim of “political aggression” by PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo, who forced regional governments to agree to the distribution of unaccompanied minors.
