Azerbaijan has reopened its embassy in Iran, the republic’s Foreign Ministry announced on July 15, Tasnim reports.
“The embassy reopened its doors after negotiations between Azerbaijan and Iran”the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. “Steps are currently being taken to organize consular services in the new embassy building in Iran”“the department clarified.
“Iran has taken appropriate security measures in front of our new embassy in accordance with diplomatic protection obligations under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.”the message says.
Recall that relations between Baku and Tehran worsened in January 2023 following an attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran, which forced the republic to close the embassy and evacuate employees.
