The Mongolian school in Seoul was visited by Mongolian Prime Minister L. Oyun-Erdene on the first day of his official visit to the Republic of Korea, on February 14, according to the Montsame portal.
It is reported that in 1999 a comprehensive school was built in Seoul. It has 24 teachers and 342 students. The school was founded by South Korean citizen Yoo Hae Gyun to guarantee the right to education for Mongolian children living in the country.
At the same time, the school teaches children according to the standards of Mongolian educational institutions. The portal recalled that outside Mongolia, that is, in 16 countries, there are 59 schools, Mongolian language and culture centers.
It should be noted that South Korea is becoming Mongolia’s largest economic partner. Also, more than 37,000 Mongolians live in South Korea.
Previously, the head of South Korean telecom giant KT Group, Ku Hyun Mo, became Mongolia’s chief technology officer. This is the first time that a foreign businessman has run an entire branch of the Mongolian government.
At the same time, the subsidiaries of this Korean company signed an agreement with the Mongolian government on the development of rare earth metal deposits in Mongolia.
