He noted that this discussion is taking place as part of the implementation of the decision of the BRICS summit held in June 2022 to develop criteria for admitting new countries to the organization. According to him, the discussion participants have now agreed to develop and adopt the concept of BRICS expansion.
Suklal stressed that three more meetings are scheduled to agree on common criteria, principles and approaches for the expansion of the BRICS. They will pass in the next three months. Based on the results of the work, a report will be prepared, which will be considered by the foreign ministers of the BRICS countries. Their meeting will take place in June this year.
