No cooking ideas? Turn your SUV into a solar oven!

With temperatures set to reach 40°C in parts of our country this week, a peculiar idea has emerged from the US to take advantage of the relentless heat.

Park rangers at Arizona’s Saguaro National Park have repurposed the dashboard of the 4×4 they use to patrol the park into a new location for making banana bread. A welcome idea, considering the temperature on board can reach 100°C in just an hour.

This is not the first time the agents have used this trick: previously they have prepared peppers and cookies; Scrambled eggs are also possible, although they add a lot of fat…

“You know what’s not ideal for cooking in a car?” patrol officers say on Facebook. “Kids and pets!” is a more than reasonable warning in extreme temperatures.
