A woman, aged about 50, was arrested by the PSP in Oware this Sunday morning for biting a police officer during an incident related to a domestic violence crime.
The initial alarm was raised at around 11pm on Saturday by the Ovar fire department about an attack on a public road in Rua Conselheiro Arala Chaves. The woman allegedly attacked her partner in a domestic violence situation.
When the agents arrived, the woman was acting aggressively towards the officers in the patrol car. When the agents tried to calm the woman down, one of them was bitten on the left leg and attacked by the detainee.
The woman was taken to the police station on suspicion of resisting and coercing an officer. The detainee’s companion was taken to Feira Hospital by Ovar firefighters with minor injuries.
