Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s campaign on Tuesday accused Democratic rival Kamala Harris’ newly announced vice presidential nominee Tim Walz of being a “dangerous left-wing radical.”
“From his zero-carbon agenda to proposing very strict emissions standards for gasoline-powered vehicles to passing policies that allow convicted felons to vote, Walz is obsessed with spreading California’s left-wing agenda,” the Republican campaign said in a statement shortly after the Democratic no. 2 pick was announced.
“It’s no wonder that San Francisco liberal Kamala Harris wants Tim Walz to be her running mate,” Trump’s argument went, decrying Walz’s wasted time as governor reshaping Minnesota in the image of California, a state associated with leftist ideas.
