The Wall Street Journal’s report on the death of Fuad Shukr is false, the press service of the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah reported on August 18.
The Wall Street Journal’s account was based on Israel’s hacking of Hezbollah’s internal network to reveal Shukr’s location.
“Hezbollah’s media relations office categorically denies the fabricated story published by the Wall Street Journal about the death of Commander Fuad Shukr. This story is full of lies and is completely false.”– stood out in the movement.
The press service also explained that none of the authors of the Wall Street Journal article had met with representatives of the movement, which raises doubts about the reliability of the original information.
Note that tensions between Lebanon and Israel are rising, especially after the Israeli army attacked a residential building in Beirut, in which senior Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr was killed.
In response to Israel’s actions, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrullah warned of an inevitable response, while Israel expressed its readiness to suffer widespread destructive consequences in the event of aggression against itself.
