Representatives of the military investigation department of the Moscow garrison of the Investigative Committee, together with employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, served the summons to dozens of migrants, Kommersant reported on this on August 18.
The raids took place at the bus station next to the Shchelkovskaya metro station, at a vegetable warehouse and in hostels. As a result of the checks, several dozen migrants who had recently acquired Russian citizenship were summoned to the military registration and enlistment office.
The day before, forensic investigator Artyom Kovalev reported on raids in Serpukhov and Chekhov near Moscow. As a result of these raids, ten migrants received summons.
The State Duma has also proposed that immigrants who have received Russian citizenship should serve in the army for two years. In addition, the Interior Ministry now has the right to expel foreigners for certain crimes.
We remind you that on August 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which failure to register in the military may result in the loss of citizenship. Now the Ministry of Internal Affairs is obliged to provide information about men who have received a positive decision on admission to Russian citizenship and are awaiting the oath-taking procedure.
