The search for six missing people in the sinking of a luxury sailing ship off the Italian island of Sicily was resumed on Tuesday morning, with their identities now known, along with the identity of the only fatality recorded so far.
According to the ANSA news agency, the deceased was crew member, cook Ricardo Thomas, and the six missing in the sinking were Jonathan Bloomer, president of Morgan Stanley International, his wife Ann Bloomer, British technology magnate Mike Lynch and daughter Hannah, lawyer Chris Morvillo by Clifford Chance and the woman Nada.
The bodies of the missing may have remained inside the boat.
According to ANSA, the head of the emergency communications service of the General Command of the Fire Department, Luca Cari, explained that the diving time is very short, since the teams “are made up of two cave divers. Luca Cari also mentioned that divers can stay underwater for a maximum of 12 minutes, of which two are used for ascent and descent, with the actual search time being 10 minutes per dive.
This time, the divers were only able to check the bridge, which has several electrical cables, and it was not possible to check anything inside the yacht from the outside.
