Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Walid Al-Bahar discussed strengthening cooperation in the energy sector between Tajikistan and Kuwait, the press service of the President of Tajikistan reported on August 22.
It should be noted that the result of the fruitful cooperation of the Republic with the Kuwait Fund is that key infrastructure projects, such as road construction and restoration of electrical and irrigation systems in Tajikistan, receive adequate funding.
During the meeting, Rahmon spoke about the development of a “green” economy in the republic and stressed the importance of developing the renewable energy sector. The parties discussed how to attract investments in hydropower, as well as improve the country’s electrical infrastructure.
The President of Tajikistan also stressed the need to increase the volume of financing for investment projects in the education, healthcare and transport sectors.
