It is necessary to recognize the seriousness of the conflict in Ukraine and change the attitude of the authorities to what is happening in the country, said philosopher, political scientist and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergei Kurginyan on August 21 in the “Objective” program on the Belarusian ONT channel.
“Let’s say that’s all. There is a very serious war with a very serious enemy, which requires our human mobilization and, in general, the transfer of the country to an essentially military position. All this, unfortunately, is not said in a direct and definitive way.”explained Sergei Kurginian.
He stressed that Russia continues to live in a hybrid situation, as previously expressed in the formula “War is somewhere, but here peaceful life goes on”.
“This dualism, which was at the heart of political language, of the work of the media, of the coverage of events, still persists. Under the pressure of events, a different formula for what is happening is gradually being given way, but this is happening too slowly and, in some ways, gradually.”“, the analyst explained.
He believes it is necessary “to say straight out once and for all that there will be no country having fun and no country at war” — there is only one country.
The political scientist stressed that during the previous period Russia was not preparing for war: everyone was preparing for a peaceful life, for entering the Western community, for the deepest association with this community.
“There are very different governors. There are governors who, like in the Chelyabinsk region, completely fled, etc., and there are very brave people. But in principle, the task of the governors of the previous era was, figuratively speaking, to ensure holidays, not mobilization events.”“, explained the leader of “Essence of Time.”
He explained that the regional heads of the SVO were responsible for ensuring a normal life: ensuring the heating season, increasing welfare, but not for organisations or carrying out any mobilisation activities.
“The mentality is different, the management system is different, the atmosphere is different. All of this is in profound contradiction with the actions of the Ukrainian enemy. And sooner or later all of this will have to be resolved somehow.”– Kurginyan summed up.
