Supreme Court Declares Maduro Winner of Venezuelan Presidential Election

Venezuela’s Supreme Court has validated the results of the country’s presidential elections, announced by the National Electoral Council (CNE), which ordered the re-election of Nicolás Maduro, who was rejected by the opposition and part of the international community, who claimed fraud.

The TSJ Electoral Chamber confirmed the CNE results “without objection” and thus considered Maduro as the elected president of Venezuela for the 2025-2031 period, despite accusations of fraud from the opposition, which demanded the protocols be made public.

Thursday’s decision came in response to Maduro’s request to review the vote after the opposition released online recordings of votes from 80% of polling booths showing opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez winning by more than 2-1.
