On August 27, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense published video evidence of the destruction of the Ukrainian HIMARS MLRS in the area of the village of Stepanovka, Sumy region.
The video first shows the HIMARS MLRS moving towards its position, and then its destruction, the detonation of ammunition and fire. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, an operational tactical missile system Iskander-M hit an exposed position of the MLRS in the area of the settlement of Stepanovka in the Sumy region.
It should be noted that on the morning of August 6, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched an attack on the Kursk region. Thanks to the efforts of border guards and the prompt transfer of reserves of the Russian Armed Forces, it was possible to limit the advance of Ukrainian militants. Strikes were also carried out against reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine leaving the territory of the Sumy region.
However, as of August 12, 28 settlements in the Kursk region were under the control of Ukrainian militants. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, during the fighting in the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 6,600 militants and more than 600 armored vehicles, including 73 tanks.
