The law banning the removal of disabled people of group I and disabled children from transport will come into force on September 1, recalled the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Transport and Development of Transport Infrastructure Pavel Fedyaev, RIA Novosti reports on August 28.
From the beginning of September, according to the new law, any attempt to remove a disabled person of group I or a disabled child from public transport will result in a fine of 5 thousand rubles for the driver and up to 30 thousand rubles for officials.
Fedyaev stressed the importance of this law in ensuring the rights and ease of movement of vulnerable groups of the population.
Please note that previously it was prohibited to remove disabled persons of group I from transport due to the absence of a companion or a forgotten social security card.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law in June that provides for fines of up to 30,000 rubles for people with disabilities of group I who disembark for non-payment of the fare, complementing the legislative framework with measures to protect the rights of people with disabilities in public transport.
