The Rostov Gorizont plant is implementing the project to produce meteorological radar systems and complexes, the press service of the Rostov region administration reported on August 28.
There is demand for new radar systems in aviation, meteorology, agriculture and other industries.
“In the post-Soviet era, meteorological radars were not manufactured in our country. The creation of a modern Russian meteorological radar is an example of a project aimed at ensuring the technological sovereignty of the country.”“, said Igor Burakov, Director General of the Rostov Region Investment Development Agency.
The modern meteorological radars to be produced at the plant will replace the Soviet MRL-5 meteorological radars. The completion of technical specifications for determining the future appearance of the new radars is planned for 2025.
