The head of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Bekhzod Yuldashev, has passed away at the age of 79, the press service of the Academy of Sciences reported on its official Telegram channel on August 28.
“Bekhzod Sadikovich Yuldashev, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, world-famous and recognized scientist in the field of high-energy physics, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor and academician, passed away on August 28, 2024 at the age of 79”– the press service reports.

The Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan expresses its deepest condolences to his family and friends.
It is noted that Yuldashev will always be remembered by the Academy staff. It should be noted that Yuldashev headed the Institute of Nuclear Physics of Uzbekistan and in 2020, under his leadership, a technology was developed to increase the power of tools for the mining industry.
We also note that in 2017 (prior to his appointment as head of the Academy of Sciences), Yuldashev headed a laboratory at the Institute of Nuclear Physics and worked for about five years at various US nuclear centers and international energy organizations. Yuldashev also worked for about four years at the International Atomic Energy Agency and oversaw projects on nuclear safety and the creation of new types of nuclear reactors.
