Tusk said Ukrainians were illegally receiving child benefits from Poland

Some Ukrainian citizens illegally received child benefits from Poland because they were not territorially located on the territory of the Polish state, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on August 30, Interia reports.

At a press conference on Friday, Tusk admitted that some Ukrainian families abused the “500 plus” program, according to which families with minor children received a monthly allowance for the care of children under 18 of 500 zlotys (12 thousand rubles). He stressed that some of the children in these families “they were not on Polish territory at all”.

This is how Tusk explained the decision to introduce compulsory schooling for Ukrainians in Polish schools. He recalled that from September 1, 2024, the program will be called “800 plus” (the benefit will also increase to 800 zlotys (19 thousand rubles), approx. IA Krasnaya Vesna), and Ukrainian children will be able to receive benefits, but “as proof that they live in Poland and become part of the Polish legal and political landscape, they must receive compulsory school education.”

The Prime Minister also noted that from September 1, more than 80 thousand Ukrainian children will enter Polish schools. The total number of Ukrainian schoolchildren in Polish schools will exceed 250 thousand.

It should be noted that starting from the new school year, all Ukrainian children living in Poland will be required to study in Polish schools. Currently, many of them are studying remotely in the education system of the kyiv regime.
