Turkey has no unsolvable problems with Syria, Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler said on August 31, the Hürriyet newspaper reported.
“There are no problems between us that cannot be solved”“Güler said. “I believe that once the problems are resolved, we will be able to continue our normal activities as two neighboring countries.”he emphasized.
The minister also stated that he believes “very positive” Assad’s latest statements. He recalled that earlier Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had announced his willingness to meet with the Syrian leader.
It should be noted that earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov said that Moscow is ready to host a meeting of the heads of state of Turkey and Syria. The course towards normalization of relations between the countries has been set since the summer of 2024, when Erdogan and Assad announced their readiness to meet.
