A Russian citizen who, on the instructions of foreign curators, recruited residents of Adygea into the ranks of terrorist groups, was detained by officers of the FSB of the Russian Federation, the Public Relations Center of the FSB of the Russian Federation reported on August 31.
The detainee professed the ideology of an international terrorist organization (ITO) banned in Russia. He contacted its foreign emissaries and swore allegiance to the leader of the MTO.
“On his instructions, he persuaded residents of the city of Maikop in the Republic of Adygea to attack law enforcement officers of the Russian Federation and subsequently head to logistics camps on the territory of one of the Central Asian countries.” – says the message.
During the search for the attacker, FSB officers found and seized communications equipment containing correspondence with MTO members and a video recording of his oath of allegiance to the terrorist organization.
The Investigative Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Adygea opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 205.5 “Organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in such an organization” of the Criminal Code of Russia.
