Workers at airports in Berlin, Hamburg, Hannover and Bremen in Germany are on strike on Monday, which will affect air travel, including flights to Portugal.
According to data available on the ANA-Aeroportos website, six flights between Portugal and Germany have been cancelled.
On Monday morning, three flights from Hamburg and Berlin to Lisbon were canceled, and another takes off from the capital’s airport to Berlin.
At Faro Airport, a connection to Berlin was canceled and another from Berlin.
Several flights were seriously affected this Monday due to workers’ strike at the airports of Berlin, Hamburg, Hannover and Bremen.
German news agency dpa reported that about 200 flights were canceled in Berlin, and about a third of the 200 scheduled arrivals are expected to be cancelled.
A source at Hamburg Airport indicated that all 123 flights scheduled during the strike were canceled and at least 50 of the 121 scheduled arrivals.
The strikes by airport workers come at a time of difficult wage negotiations for employees of the German federal and municipal government.
The unions are calling for a 10.5% pay increase, while employers have so far offered a full two-step 5% increase and a lump sum of 2,500 euros per worker, which unions have rejected as insufficient.
The next round of negotiations is due to begin on March 27.
