Explosions and chaos continue in Sudan’s capital despite calls for a ceasefire

Sudanese capital Khartoum saw more explosions and artillery skirmishes on the ground on Tuesday with aircraft attempting to clear obstacles set up by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), despite general calls for a ceasefire.

The situation in the Sudanese capital remains chaotic, according to France-Presse (AFP) news agency, despite calls from the international community and neighbors in the region to slow or end the standoff that erupted on Saturday and has now grown to at least 180 dead and more than 1,800 injured. .

In the skies above the capital, the planes of the army of General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the country’s de facto leader since the 2021 coup, are trying to escape from intense paramilitary fire (RSF) led by General Mohamed Hamdan Daghlo, known as the Hemedti, who jointly staged the 2021 coup years, but from Saturday they became enemies.
