An American couple was hit by a drunk driver minutes after exiting a wedding banquet. A woman, Samantha Miller, 34, was killed and a man, Arik Hutchinson, was seriously injured when the driver crashed into the back of a golf cart carrying the newlyweds. The accident happened in South Carolina, USA.
According to a GoFundMe page created by the groom’s mother, the golf cart was designed to be over 100 meters.
According to the magazine PeopleArik “underwent one of two reconstructive surgeries because he has multiple bone fractures and a traumatic brain injury.”
Jamie Lee Komoroski, a 25-year-old driver, is charged with negligent homicide and drunk driving. Authorities are awaiting blood test results.
Two other people, the mother of Night’s son-in-law and grandson, were in the golf cart and were also injured, one seriously, according to the GoFundMe page. “My son-in-law Benjamin Garrett and grandson Brogan Garrett de Morgan were escorting a couple from a golf cart party when they were hit from behind by a drunk driver,” the page reads.
