President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with Pope Francis on Saturday in the Vatican.
The trip, which has not been officially announced, comes just two weeks after the Pope said the Vatican was on a peacekeeping mission to try to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Reuters reported.
Kyiv did not comment on the information about a possible visit to Italy. The office of the President of Ukraine never reveals details about Zelenskiy’s travel plans so as not to jeopardize security.
An Italian political source confirmed that Zelenskiy could be in Rome next weekend and said he could also meet with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
