This Friday, the PSP gave a “positive” rating to two British band Coldplay concerts in Coimbra, noting any serious breaches of public order and security.
The first two of the four shows at the Estádio Cidade de Coimbra took place on Wednesday and Thursday. Two other shows are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
“The fact that the public is heeding the calls to arrive early at the show venue has been critical to ensure that the admissions process runs smoothly,” the District Command chief of operations was quoted in a press release. from the PSP of Coimbra, Quartermaster Pedro Marquez.
Another factor to highlight is “public attention to the list of banned objects to avoid unnecessary delays in searches,” he adds.
According to the Public Security Police (PSP), there was a “decrease in traffic congestion” from the first to the second concert, which characterizes the “mass departure after the performance.”
PSP advises anyone who is on the east side of the stadium, next to Gira Solum and intends to drive south after the concert, to take motorway 13 (A13) rather than motorway (A1) in order to facilitate traffic along the route – Outer Ring Road (in towards Portela) – A13 – A1 (Condeixa a Nova).
If you choose A1, follow the outer ring road (towards Coselhas/Casa do Sal) – Açude Bridge – A1 (Coimbra Sul) or Rainha Santa Bridge – Additional Line 2 (IC2) – A1 (Condeixa-a-Nova).
For those who want to drive north, the route should be through the Outer Ring Road (towards Coselhas/Casa do Sal) – IC2 – A1 (North Coimbra).
If you intend to move west, the suggested route is through the outer ring road (towards Coselhas/Caça do Sal) – IC2 – A14 (North of Coimbra).
Finally, those traveling east should take the Outer Ring Road (towards Cocelhas/Caça do Sal) – IC2 – Main Route 3 (IP3).
The PSP of Coimbra has planned and is conducting “large scale” security for these four shows in various parts of the city, with a total of over “150 personnel” from different valences of the Public Security Police.
