Police are looking for fibers from Maddy McCann’s pajamas in the dirt from the Arade dam, taken for analysis. The search for the body of a British girl began on Tuesday, 50 km from Praia da Luz, where Maddie disappeared 16 years ago. Work began early in the morning, and at about 11 o’clock excavations began, which are being carried out at two different points.
About a dozen police officers are involved in the excavations, and sniffer dogs are working at the site. However, the teams were reinforced with additional resources.
ABOUT cm he knows that advanced technology is being used in diligence and that excavations are underway to find traces of Maddie’s body or any object that could have belonged to the girl.
The authorities are doing painstaking work and hitting the ground inch by inch with pickaxes to try and detect any deformation in the ground that indicates it has been disturbed.
This coast, which is being searched, was flooded in 2007, as the country did not experience the drought that is now in the country.
The action, agreed by the judicial police, was requested by the German authorities, who believe that Maddie’s remains are at the scene and are counting on the presence of the English authorities.
British police have confirmed that they have agents in Portugal assisting in the search and informing Maddy’s family of “any developments”.
This is the largest operation since the first search operation in 2007.
The prime suspect in the girl’s death, Christian Bruckner, will pass through the Barragem do Arade area several times. This place was already searched for in 2008. Then a baby sock was found.
The Deputy Director of the Northern Directorate of the GP is on site and is coordinating the investigation.
