Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced victory in the second round of the presidential elections in Turkey on Sunday.
The head of state announced victory even before official data showed that he had won the election with 52% of the vote.
“We have completed the second round of the presidential elections with the support of our people,” said Erdogan, quoted by the publication. Al Jazeera news.
“Our nation has given us the responsibility of running the country for the next five years,” Erdogan said outside his Istanbul residence, where an enthusiastic crowd has gathered in recent hours.
During his speech, the President of Turkey stressed that Turkey is the only winner of the elections.
In front of his supporters, the head of state, who has been in power for 20 years, assured that he would fulfill “all the promises made to the people”, and stressed that every election is a “revival”.
