Seven people were arrested as part of a National Republican Guard (GNR) special police operation to prevent crime in Almada, Setúbal district, which the police announced on Monday.
The operation carried out on Friday involved 140 soldiers from various areas of the NPR Territorial Command in Setúbal, namely the Territorial, Road, Intervention and Criminal Investigation, as well as funds from the Territorial Command of Lisbon, from the Cinotécnico Intervention Group (GIC) and the Community Intervention Unit. order (GIOP) unit intervention (UI).
Of the total arrested, two were for drug dealing, three for driving without a license, and two for disobedience.
As part of this operation, the GNR identified 77 violations and seized various drugs, namely 153 individual doses of hashish, 106 crack, 14 cocaine, 14 heroin, one marijuana and a bottle of nitrous oxide.
Also, 4 vehicles were detained and 55 protocols on administrative offenses on traffic law, 16 protocols related to the work of trade establishments, and 6 protocols for possession and consumption of drugs were applied.
According to the GNR, this operation had as its main goal the appearance of power in crowded places, which are referred to by social incidents, as well as the prevention and fight against crime.
The goal was to deter criminal activity, control, detect and prevent the commission of offenses related to weapons and drugs, as well as to increase the feeling of security among the population.
