The mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, condemned the actions of EMEL employees who, as reported cm, attacked the driver on Monday afternoon in the capital. In radio interview TSF, The mayor considered the situation “unacceptable”.
“It couldn’t be. I already asked for an investigation to see and find out exactly what happened, but such situations cannot be. My political vision for EMEL is not a punitive vision for people, but to work with them for a parking solution. Therefore, this behavior, if so, is unacceptable for a public company and therefore the consequences will be removed,” Carlos Moedas explained to TSF.
EMEL said in a statement that an investigation has been launched to establish the criminal responsibility of three employees who, this Monday, reportedly cm, they beat a man in Lisbon.
The driver was stopped on Avenida da República when an EMEL worker stopped him. He was asked to remove the car, but he refused. They exchanged a few words until a second employee of the company approached and hit the man. Shortly thereafter, a third colleague appeared.
The 35-year-old victim received multiple head injuries, broke her nose and three teeth. The attacks stopped only thanks to the intervention of people who were at the scene.
