Bad weather, which will affect the Madeira archipelago from Monday to Tuesday, will affect the continent from Wednesday, but “not with the same intensity”, with rain over most of the territory, but less.
“There is a system that will affect Madeira due to the large amount of moisture coming from the tropics and will cause heavy rainfall in the archipelago, hence the issuance of red warnings for the Madeira archipelago, and then, from Wednesday, more Wednesday and Thursday, the remnants of this system will affect to the continent not with such intensity, but it will make a difference,” explained Luce Pedro Souza, a meteorologist at the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
The meteorologist said that from Wednesday on the continent “precipitation is slightly more general, but not as severe as in Madeira.”
