On Tuesday, eight schools from five existing groups in the municipality of Viseu were preparing to take the fifth grade certification exam. But thousands of students missed the exam because of the teachers’ strike.
“Only two schools passed the test, but with restrictions on the platform of the Ministry of Education. Delays of more than 30 minutes were recorded because students were unable to enter. It was a disaster,” said a source contacted by the Ministry of Education. Morning Post.
In the remaining six schools, the conditions for taking the test were not met due to a teachers’ strike, so thousands of students did not take the test. The same scenario was observed in several schools across the country.
“What is happening in this country is a disgrace. At the end of the school year, marked by strikes, no one has solved the problem of teachers, and our children are paying, ”said the guardian, who asked not to be named.
Due to the lack of teachers to perform the minimum service (only four were working), the school in Mundao, in Viseu, was forced to close its doors.
