Pope Francis will meet victims of Catholic sexual abuse during his visit to Portugal in August, World Youth Day (WYD) Foundation President Américo Aguiar said today.
The official program of the Pope’s visit to Portugal during the WYD from August 2 to 6 includes a two-hour visit to Fatima, meetings with refugee students and children from disadvantaged families, but there is also a program that is “not on paper”, as it turned out. “In addition to the official program, there will be a meeting with victims of abuse, but this is not mentioned,” said the person in charge of organizing the WYD, which will begin in two months.
