PJ detains two suspects in kidnapping and robbery in Coimbra

The Judicial Police (SP) of the Center detained a man and a woman suspected of committing the crime of kidnapping, a 72-year-old man and theft allegedly committed in January in the city of Coimbra.

In a statement, the SP explained that, through the Board of Directors of the Center, it had executed arrest warrants issued by the Department of Investigations and Criminal Affairs (DIAP) of Coimbra and detained “a man and a woman for the alleged authorship of the crime.” crimes related to kidnapping, robbery and misuse of the warranty card or card, device or payment data, the victim of which was a 72-year-old man.

In January, detainees “approached the victim on a public road in Coimbra, forcing her to drive her car to a gas station, where she was forced to withdraw money from an ATM.

According to the joint venture, the arrested people later drove to the city of Porto in the victim’s car, forcing the man to accompany them in getting the drugs.

Already in the city of Porto, always with the victim under control, “they bought and used drugs” and “withdrawn money from ATMs several times using the victim’s ATM card.”

“They later left the victim on the outskirts of Coimbra, and left their car in a car park in the city center,” the note says.

The detainees were taken to the judicial authorities for the first interrogation.

The court ruled on enforcement measures for daily appearances at the nearest criminal police authority (OPK), a ban on contacts with the victim, a ban on visiting places and contacts with people associated with drug trafficking, a ban on being absent from the territory of the municipality of Coimbra without prior permission from the judiciary.
