The Bulána Court in Porto held a trial this Wednesday in a case in which Matilde Alves, former Councilor of the Chamber of Porto, was accused of slandering Mayor Rui Moreira on social media.
Rui Moreira and the former adviser reached an agreement. Matilde Alves suggested that he exceeded the phrases posted on the social network Facebook and apologized.
After listening to them both came to an agreement. Mathilde Alves admitted the facts and justified her actions as a result of the publication made by Rui Moreira, in which she spoke about her husband Fernando Charrua, who was sued in 2007 for insulting a public official, and that it was in this sense that she began to publish these the most
publications.
The mayor said that he never intended to speak, harm or insult Fernando Charrua and therefore apologized for the episode. However, he said that he was offended by the publications of the former adviser, in which he was called a liar, suspicious, a dictator.
