The two defendants in the drug-dealing case, whose main defendant is Ruben Oliveira, known as “Shuksas”, will be released on Friday, as the maximum sentence has expired.
In accordance with an order from the Ministry of Public Administration (MP), to which Lusa had access this Monday, lawyer Carlos Melo Alves, the representative of the defendant Gurvinder Singh, was notified that his voter and another accused, José Cabral, were to be released in June. Friday, 16th, as well as June 17th, is the deadline for the application of coercive measures in the form of imprisonment to which they were subjected as part of this process related to the international trafficking of cocaine.
The order mentions that the release is due to the fact that before that date, “the issuance of a directive decision will not be possible.”
