A 32-year-old woman was arrested and charged with torturing and trying to kill her 12-year-old son in Austria. The mother locked the child in a small dog cage, immersed him in ice-cold water and opened the windows of the apartment, exposing the child to freezing temperatures. In accordance with daily mailthe boy fell into a coma and a state of hypothermia, being on the verge of death.
It happened in November last year. Earlier this week, the Austrian Supreme Court rejected the woman’s appeal against her detention.
In accordance with daily mail, the woman has been in custody in the Austrian city of Krems since November 22. The alarm was raised by a social worker who called an ambulance to the house where the boy was being tortured. The British newspaper also reports that the boy’s body temperature reached 23.8ºC. The average human body temperature is 37°C.
The woman left her son in a state of severe malnutrition, causing the boy to fall into a coma even before the social worker called an ambulance.
