Seven people were arrested this Monday following an operation carried out by the GNR Criminal Investigation Department in Santa Maria da Feira on suspicion of being involved in a drug trafficking ring.
The detainees, aged between 25 and 56, supported a drug trafficking scheme in the Porto metropolitan area.
The operation, after an investigation that lasted about 18 months, covered the municipalities of Santa Maria da Feira, Gaia, Porto, Matosinhos, Valonga and Vila do Conde.
Authorities also seized 555 doses of hashish; 105 doses of cocaine in powder; 2966 doses of Liamba, 12 decimal scales; 34 euros in cash; five cars and a revolver (replica).
The detainees were brought before the Judicial Court of Santa Maria da Feira today. At the end of the first judicial interrogation, the criminal judge appoints coercive measures.
The operation was reinforced by the Information and Criminal Investigation Department of Aveiro, the Aveiro Intervention Unit, and with the support of the Public Security Police of Porto, Matosinhos, Vila do Conde, Vila Nova de Gaia and a special police unit. .
