A problem in the e-prescription access system prevents pharmacies from issuing prescriptions to users in the country, the president of the National Association of Pharmacies (ANF) confirmed to Lusa.
“We have problems with access to electronic prescriptions all over the country. We know that the general services of the Ministry of Health (SPMS) are trying to find the source of the problem in order to solve it,” said Ema Paulino.
According to the president of ANF, difficulties with access to the system occurred this Thursday morning and were partially resolved, but “the problems recurred in the afternoon, and their cause has not yet been established.”
“For our part, we are waiting, because this is precisely the error in accessing the pharmacy prescription system, which is transversal for all pharmacy computer systems,” the ANF president explained.
“Right now [cerca das 17h00]access to electronic prescriptions is not possible,” said Ema Paulino, who expects the situation to be resolved soon, although she does not yet have a forecast on this.
The head of the ANF also mentioned that there is a system that can be consulted using code found in printed treatment guides, but this is a “standalone” solution that is not constantly updated.
“This is not a solution that can be safely used in all pharmacies,” he acknowledged.
“When we have issues like this accessing an ePrescription, they are temporary and sometimes resolved within minutes or just over an hour, but it takes a little longer,” Ema Paulina said.
