The Portugal men’s Olympic team won the bronze medal at the 2023 European Games in Krakow this Sunday, with Joao Paulo Azevedo, Armelim Rodrigues and José Bruno Faria finishing 16th on the mission podium in Poland.
After finishing third in qualifying, the Portuguese trio beat Italy’s Mauro de Filippis, Daniele Resca and Giovanni Pellielo in the men’s bronze medal game, the best modal result in the European Games.
In the last competition with the Portuguese from Krakow 2023, which ends this Sunday, Azevedo, Rodrigues and Faria managed in Wroclaw, almost 300 kilometers from Krakow, the 16th “metal” for Portugal, three golds, seven silvers and six bronzes, winning 15 Minsk-2019 to make it the most successful publication for the country.
This Sunday, in Krakow and in the Polish region of Lesser Poland, the third European Games will end, with 30 sports and 48 participating countries, including Portugal, whose delegation has more than two hundred athletes.
