The Judicial Police (PJ) arrested a 56-year-old woman on suspicion of sexually abusing her granddaughter, filmed, photographed and shared the contents in the municipality of Redondo (Évora), as announced this Thursday.
The SP statement indicated that the suspect was detained by the Évora Local Criminal Investigation Department on Monday as there are signs of crimes involving aggravated child sexual abuse and aggravated child pornography.
According to the joint venture, the victim is a 12-year-old girl, the granddaughter of the detainee, and the actions took place “in the woman’s house, where the minor lived, since she was under guardianship.”
“The detainee and the victim were the only residents of the house where the criminal acts were committed,” the SP said, noting that the alleged crimes “had happened repeatedly since last year.”
The SP statement emphasizes that the detainee took advantage of the “bond of kinship and custody” and produced “pornographic videos and photographs involving a minor”, which she shared “through social networks with several men with whom she had conversations of sexual content.”
Contacting Lusa, a source from PJ said the investigation into the case is ongoing and that the woman was arrested at the scene of the crime on Monday with the content on her mobile phone.
The same source explained that the child lived with his grandmother because his parents emigrated and he is now under the care of the court.
The woman shared pornographic videos and photos with men who live in the area, PJ’s source added.
The detainee was already present at the first judicial interrogation, the strictest measure of restraint was applied to him – a preliminary detention.
