This Thursday afternoon in Santo Tirso, a man was bitten by a dog of a dangerous breed, apparently because he attacked his partner. Probably, the protective instinct of the animal, belonging to the couple’s neighbor, made him attack the aggressor. The man suffered serious injuries to his arm and required 25 stitches.
It happened around 12:00 in Sant Tome de Negrelos, in Santo Tirso. The attacker, in his 40s, was taken to the hospital but returned home at the end of the day to threaten the victim.
The GNR was called to the scene, but did not confirm the episode of domestic violence. The suspect was ultimately arrested for driving without a license and registering a blood alcohol level of over 3.0 g/L. After he was taken to the post, the man was notified of his appearance in the judiciary.
During the day this Thursday, GNR was called to the couple’s home three times with a complaint of domestic violence filed by neighbors, but always without confirmation on the spot.
