Melba Mebane, a 90-year-old Texas woman, retired after 74 years at Dillard’s clothing store.
For all the years, the woman has not missed a single working day, says the current director of the store, whose words are quoted by the publication. Fox News.
“Even after many years, from the time she started her activity to the present day, her values remain unchanged. She raises the bar in everything,” says store manager James Saenz.
Melba began working at the age of 17, in 1949. She helped clients who used the elevator before being promoted to the menswear department and then to the cosmetics department.
While working, the woman raised her son Terry, who said that even in recent years, the mother still worked 40 hours a week.
