Navegante fare passes and single tickets for the Carris Metropolitana will maintain the same prices in 2023 as this year, the Área Metropolitana de Lisboa (AML) announced this Friday.
In a note, AML, which is the transport authority, says it has made the decision to keep the cost of occasional Carris Metropolitana tickets for 2022, among other things, to encourage the use of collective public transport throughout the region.
This decision takes place “even though the Renewal Rate allowed by the Mobility and Transportation Authority for single transport tickets (tickets) in 2023 is 6.11%, and that the same rate will apply, with a high probability, in most of the country,” the BOD stressed.
Prices for single tickets depend on the areas the passenger visits, and Navegante passes range from 30 euros for trips within the same municipality to 40 euros for trips between municipalities, according to the fare available at https://www. carrismetropolitana.pt/tarifarios/.
Carris Metropolitana manages the municipal networks of 15 of the 18 municipalities (since everything remains as it is in the municipalities of Barreiro, Cascais and Lisbon) and all inter-municipal activities of the 18 metropolitan municipalities.
The unified brand Carris Metropolitana will, from January 1, 2023, provide passenger transportation in each of the municipalities of Amadora, Oeiras, Sintra, Loures, Mafra, Odivelas and Vila Franca de Xira, all on the north bank of the Tagus. where existing transport companies stop their activities.
Since June 1, he is responsible for the transport of passengers in the municipalities of Almada, Seixal, Sesimbra, Alcochete, Moita, Montijo, Palmela and Setúbal on the south coast.
On the Barreiro municipal network, transport is still provided by the domestic operator Transportes Coletivos do Barreiro (TCB), in Cascais by Mobi Cascais and in Lisbon by Carris.
For those traveling from one municipality to another (including Barreiro, Cascais and Lisbon), intercity public road transport will always be provided by Carris Metropolitana.
The operation on the northern bank was supposed to start in September, but due to problems on the southern bank, it was postponed to 1 January.
