This morning, the Porto Municipal Police are sealing off 105 of the 126 shops at the Stop shopping center on Rua do Heroismo. The premises were used by about 600 musicians, artists and producers. Users were left without access to the galleries and outraged. This is because they guarantee the storage of equipment and materials worth thousands of euros in stores.
We are talking about noise complaints that have been constantly received since August 2009. The closed and sealed premises today do not have a license, as the CM has learned from an official source in the municipality of Porto.
Only 21 stores have licenses to operate. ABOUT The mall has not been allowed to use it since opening to the public in the early 1980s, and the owners are unable to carry out work. Meanwhile, the space “turned” into a place devoted to music. At the end of last year, there was mention of a lack of security conditions.
A statement from the Chamber of Porto states that “this morning, the municipal police are proceeding to seal 105 out of 126 stores in the STOP shopping center due to lack of operating licenses.” It further states that “21 stores with proper licenses to use will be able to continue to operate as normal, this is not a mall closure process.” The municipality also adds that “this is a process that has been going on for more than ten years, and over time the municipality has accumulated complaints from residents.”
PSP Porto is on site to ensure the safety of the stagecoaches.
