UTAD has already guaranteed that it will submit a decision contrary to A3ES, which is preliminary. In 2022, a clinical academic center was established in partnership with Centro Hospitalar de Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro and groups of medical centers in the region.
“I am convinced that, given its importance to Vila Real and the entire interior of the country, and if some steps need to be overcome, the goal will be achieved,” said Vila Real Mayor Ruy Santos.
UA rector Paulo Jorge Ferreira considered it premature to comment on the rejection of the Medicine course, as “the process is still ongoing.”
“The final report of the evaluation commission has not yet been finalized. Only after this is done will the agency’s board of directors make a decision.”
