This Friday, Infarmed ordered the withdrawal of two creams containing cannabis extracts, Cannabiron CBD and Good Cannabis, from the national market, explaining that substances related to this plant are banned for use in cosmetic products.
The National Administration for Medicines and Health Products (Infarmed) says in information published on its website that after filing a complaint and an appropriate assessment, it confirmed the existence of these two products on the national market.
“The products mentioned contain the substance cannabidiol, which, since it is derived from extracts or tinctures of hemp or its resin, is not allowed in the composition of cosmetic products,” explains Infarmed.
The National Medicines Administration determines that “cosmetic products containing the substance cannabidiol may not be marketed”, that “organizations that have these products must not make them available”, and that “consumers who have these products , should not be used.
