Cannabis Before Sex? Study Shows It Helps Women Orgasm Easier

Are you a woman and have a hard time “getting it”? What if you were told that cannabis could improve your sex life? A recent study by the Institute for Female Orgasm Research suggests that marijuana use and sexual pleasure are closely linked. The survey data showed that the majority of women surveyed who took the drug before sex had an easier time reaching orgasm and also had “better” orgasms.

More than 40% of women have difficulty reaching “climax,” a statistic that has remained stable for more than five decades. The study aimed to assess the impact of cannabis use before sex on women who had difficulty reaching orgasm. A total of 1,037 women were surveyed. The study assessed the responses of women who participated in the study based on demographics, sexual activity, mental well-being, cannabis use, and orgasm-related questions from the Female Sexual Function Index.

In reliable surveys, more than half of women (52%) reported having difficulty achieving orgasm during partnered sexual activity. These women were mostly young Caucasians between the ages of 25 and 34.

Of the participants who had difficulty achieving orgasm, 72.8% reported that using cannabis before sex increased the frequency of orgasms during sex, 67% said they had better orgasms, and 71% said they had an easier time achieving orgasm.

The study opens the possibility of new cannabis-based treatments to help women who have difficulty achieving orgasm. However, study author Suzanne Mulvehill stresses that the results should be interpreted with caution and should not be generalised.

The study does not include women who have never experienced orgasm or who use cannabis infrequently, and does not specify the dosage respondents used.
