The Trindade – Santo Ovidio section of the Porto Metro Yellow Line will be closed from this Saturday to Sunday at 13:00 due to a traction intervention, but the company will provide an alternative bus service.
According to a company announcement on Wednesday, Metro do Porto announced that traffic on the Yellow Line (D) will be suspended all day this Saturday and “until 13:00 Sunday (August 20) in both directions to Santo. Section Ovidio – Trindade”.
At stake is “an operation to increase the traction power at the General Torres station” in Vila Nova de Gaia, as “the work aimed at increasing the power capacity of the Yellow Line will be completed already taking into account upcoming flights. done on his new extension (from Santo Ovidio to Vila d’Este) as soon as the work is completed”, which is scheduled for the end of the year.

This Saturday, buses will run every 10 minutes from 6:00 to 7:00, every five minutes from 7:00 to 21:00, every six minutes from 21:00 to 23:00 and from 23:00 until the end of work, at 01:00. 00 am, 10-minute frequencies return.
“On Sunday, you can expect a frequency of 10 minutes from 06:00 to 10:00 and about seven minutes from 10:00 to 13:00,” says Metro do Porto, which is not allowed to carry bicycles on buses.
The metro between São João Hospital and Trindade will operate as usual during the entire intervention period.
